Prospective, society and digital responsibility
Beyond energy efficiency, technological uses, which carry meaning and utility, are coming to the fore. This means asking questions about the current and future consequences of new technologies. Prospective, design, human, and social sciences are all scientific disciplines that help think about and rethink these impacts.
To establish a base of human and social sciences knowledge and better integrate societal dimensions into its technology program, b<>com developed a prospective activity in 2018.
Fueled by the 17 sustainable development goals set by the UN, it anticipates and studies the impact of technologies on our society, economy, and environment. It extends to the themes of digital and responsible innovation and writes a prospective vision of a desirable future beyond the technological prism alone.
The associated work also aims to equip b<>com with tools that renew ideation processes and acculturate teams to design methodologies.
It's essential to place environmental and societal issues at the heart of our research projects. Technology only makes sense if it enables us to respond to the significant societal challenges of today and tomorrow. Responsible innovation allows us to question these needs collectively.
