Networks virtualization: b<>com contributes to Astellia's new performance analysis solutions

Astellia, the world leader in analyzing the performance of mobile networks, has just released new monitoring solutions for virtual mobile infrastructure. These solutions incorporate a dynamic network flow management software component (TAP Manager), developed in cooperation with b<>com.

For two years, the Rennes company Astellia, as a shareholder, has worked with b<>com within a team dedicated to new network architectures. The purpose of this innovation laboratory is to deploy the virtualized network functions onto standard equipment; that equipment provides both connectivity and routing resources, as well as processing and storage capabilities. And in an environment where traffic and the number of terminals are exploding, where content is diversifying, and where the need for instant response is critical, the infrastructure must be scalable. Dematerializing the network functions is key.

The b<>com application built into Astellia's solutions makes it possible to draw on NFV/SDN (Network Function Virtualization / Software Defined Networking) technologies in a simpler, more effective way. "The TAP Manager application strengthens our customers' quality of service, and ultimately their experience," says Julien Lecoeuvre, co-founder and CTIO of Astellia.

This integration of a b<>com technology within an industrial product by a member-shareholder is a sterling example of what b<>com does: be a tool to foster our partners' innovation. Besides the Astellia teams, this project involved researchers and engineers from Orange and b<>com within a multidisciplinary, integrated team.

Soon, b<>com will present new innovations in the field of 5G technologies, particularly on the convergence of access networks and the Internet of Things. We'll see you at the b<>com booth during the Mobile World Congress, the largest mobile mobile trade show, from February 27 to March 2 in Barcelona!
