The promise of the next generation of mobile networks (5G), planned in 2020, is clear: Faster, more efficient, more reliable. These networks are also expected to reduce device power consumption and serve as a better framework for the emergence of IoT. All players in the sector are experimenting, with a goal of finalizing the standards that will define this core network.
b<>com has been a 5G test operator since May 2016 as part of phase 1 of Horizon H2020 – the European research and innovation program. New European programs are being launched with the kick-off of phase 2 of H2020 (5G Transformer, WORTECS, NGPaaS, One5G). Against this backdrop, b<>com's research teams are developing solutions that deal with radio access network aspects, security components, and the 5G core network. With b<>com's teams, ENENSYS Technologies will work on the cloudification, slicing, and orchestration concepts of their eMBMS (multimedia broadcast on cell networks) solution for the purposes of future 5G network deployments.
“ENENSYS’s strategy has always been to anticipate our customers’ needs, as is the case here with 5G core network issues for mobile telecom operators. With a big lead in concepts like CUPS (separating the control and data planes) already in effect in our 4G LTE Advanced Pro (Rel 14) solution, we plan to benefit from the experience and experiment infrastructure of b<>com in 5G issues to further improve our innovative solutions” explained Régis Le Roux, CEO of ENENSYS Technologies
"One of our current projects is totally in sync with ENENSYS Technologies’ strategy. Getting our teams to work together will help pool our expertise and put technological solutions on the market faster”added Bertrand Guilbaud, CEO of b<>com
b <> com and Enensys are at the MWC in Barcelona from February 26 to March 1, 2018, respectively Hall 7 - Booth H12 and Hall 5 - Booth 5C20.
