To celebrate its 10th anniversary, last Friday b<>com organized an anniversary party where guests could enjoy interviews, testimonies, experiences and live music, in a transformed Couvent des Jacobins.

Surrounded by its partners, the FRAC (Regional Fund for Contemporary Art), Le Fresnoy - Studio National des Arts Contemporains, Rivacom and Julien Diers, b<>com offered its 400 guests an event entitled {playground}. Conceived as a treasure hunt, {playground} offered several experiences at the same time.

Live TV Show

Hosted by Lise Pedersen, the LIVE TV SHOW featured interviews and testimonies from famed local personalities, who have accompanied the b<>com adventure since its inception. But it was also a chance to discover new faces of b<>com researchers who specialize in holography, advanced engineering, or intellectual property issues. Sovereignty, cyber, employment, and national issues of technological innovation and responsible digital citizenship were subjects of the very lively discussion. Some great memories too!

{Unexpected playground}

A unique journey, combining art and technology entitled {Unexpected playground} promised an exploration of the creative and poetic power of technologies through 7 installations and immersive works:

3 works presented by Le Fresnoy Studio:

COSMORAMA by Hugo Deverchère

SURVOL by Fabien Zocco

HARUSPICES by Jonathan Pêpe.

To extend the experience and discovery, a mini-site presenting a selection of the Le Fresnoy collection exclusive to the b<>com anniversary is accessible until July 8.

DA.I.LY by Skygge x OYE, an exclusive creation inspired by the Rennes area. Learn more about the work.

INNOCENT TIMES by Hoël Duret. Learn more about the work.

OCEANODERMIE - François Joncour. Learn more about the work.

WHAT THINGS MAY COME - Marianne Fahmy. A work presented exclusively by the FRAC Bretagne. Learn more about the work.

The FRAC Bretagne has also designed a mini-exhibition for the event, find it here.

<Explore !>

Chevalvert, a partner and art director of b<>com's branding since its creation, presented <Explore!>, a retrospective and prospective gallery where the b<>com adventure was explored and explained through 10 screens. Of note was the participation of the speculative design studio Imprudence, which for the first time presented artifacts of digitally responsible worlds in 2040.

Live Music

The music was also in the spotlight with several concerts & DJ sets.

They included the exceptional performance by PAVANE & Björn Gottschall, a piano + synthesizer duo from Rennes, and Skygge, who shared his experimental pop universe accompanied by the 3D videos of the digital art collective OYE, and the DJs LOOSHAN and LES GORDON

.

A rich, intense, vibrant, forward-looking evening that we invite you to (re)experience through our best-of photo gallery :)
