In response to the challenges of experimentation, b<>com offers *Open XG Hub*, a comprehensive and innovative software platform for deploying, in just a few minutes, testing, and customising a 5G or 6G network. Designed by the Advanced Connectivity teams of the Technological Research Institute to meet the needs of R&D and industrial integration, this solution is made available free of charge on the website www.b-com.com.
Accelerating research and experimentation in 5G and 6G networks
b<>com *Open XG Hub* offers a complete, innovative, turnkey test environment that brings together the components of a 5G or 6G network. By facilitating the end-to-end deployment of a fully operational 5G cell, it enables the testing and validation of innovative services.
For Patrick Savelli, Head of Advanced Connectivity at b<>com, the benefits of the *Open XG Hub* solution are as follows:
B<>com’s new 5G and 6G technology provides a practical and flexible way to experiment, reduce risks, and accelerate the development of new connectivity solutions. It is made available by and for researchers, as well as for integrators and industrial players, under an R&D evaluation license, in order to democratise access to OpenRAN experimentation.
A modular approach
Built on a modular approach, b<>com *Open XG Hub* is based on a multilayer architecture centered around the b<>com [RAN DU] and a 5G Distributed Unit compliant with 3GPP Release 16 and O-RAN standards. As a result, the platform brings together all the components of a 5G or 6G network and enables users to easily swap, upgrade, or reconfigure network components in order to facilitate integration and experimentation.
As such, b<>com *Open XG Hub* integrates the following key applications and functionalities:
- Deployment and testing of private 5G networks
- The ability to carry out R&D activities on 5G, O-RAN, and network optimisation
- Support for multiple frequency bands and bandwidths
- Compatibility with major open-source projects (Free5GC, Open5GS, srsRAN, OpenAirInterface, …)
- Advanced monitoring and troubleshooting
- Advanced tracing and debugging tools to support experimentation and analysis
