Underground cave found on the moon by theguardian.com

Researchers have discovered a vast underground cave on the Moon, accessible from the surface, located in the Sea of Tranquility, where Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed in 1969. This cave, probably a lava tube, measures 45 meters wide and 80 meters long at a depth of 150 meters. Thanks to its relatively stable temperature, it would offer natural protection against the Moon's extreme conditions, such as radiation and micrometeorites.

Studying these caves could reveal clues about the Moon's volcanic history and contain water ice, essential for long-term missions. More than 200 pits have been spotted on the Moon, many potentially leading to underground lava tubes, possibly sites for lunar bases. However, challenges such as access and structural stability remain to be overcome for human exploration.
