Patrick Gros

An engineer by training, Patrick Gros obtained a thesis and habilitation to direct research at Grenoble INP in 1993 and 1998, in the field of computer vision. First as a researcher at CNRS and then at Inria, he worked in Grenoble and then in Rennes where he created in 2001 a research team specialized in the analysis and exploitation of large multimedia data collections such as television archives. After serving as scientific assistant to the director of the Inria center in Rennes and deputy scientific director of Inria, he took over as director of the Grenoble Inria center in 2014 and then the Rennes center in 2021.
