Europe's augmented reality players must join forces to compete globally

{Rennes, January 16th 2018 } An Industry Specification Group with b<>com, Fraunhofer HHI, the CEA, and Institut Mines Telecom as founding members was launched at ETSI last December to define an interoperability framework for augmented reality applications. Industrials are starting to join the effort with Siemens as a new member and actors like Bosch, Technicolor and Orange contributing to the discussions while considering joining. The focus on interoperability will benefit both technology providers and end-users.

IBC: b<>com enlivens VR with spatial audio

{Rennes, September 12th 2017} Spatial audio is what will enable virtual reality to succeed as a new media format. This vision has led b<>com to present exclusive versions of two mixes produced in HOA: A music video of the band Fanfaraï produced by Tour’n’sol Prod and Radio France International, and "Vaudeville", a fiction short film by the DVGroup, at the Future Zone of the IBC (H8 G14).

IBC: b<>com tests out the virtual reality of the future in a French theme park: The Virtual Arctic Expedition

{Rennes, July 12th 2017} In advance of the 2017 annual IBC show (International Broadcasting Convention), b<>com, a French Institute of Research and Technology is currently testing for the first time in public its next-generation virtual-reality demo: a dive into the Arctic Ocean. This test has been set up in collaboration with the French ocean theme park, Océanopolis. Testing out brand-new developments in virtual reality with park attendees is an awesome opportunity and the potential for application in education and health is very exciting.

b<>com wins the prestigious Technology Innovation Award during NAB Show

{Rennes, April 26th 2017} The French innovation center b<>com has just been awarded at the NAB Show 2017 for its SDR-to-HDR up-conversion technology. Launched during the 2009 NAB Show, the Technology Innovation Award recognizes organizations that bring advanced technology exhibits and demonstrations of significant merit to NAB Show, the first worldwide gathering and trade show for the broadcasting industry.
